ADJD Wills

ADJD Wills

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) Wills Registry, governed by the laws of Abu Dhabi, serves as a specialised registry for the registration of Wills for non-Muslim persons in the UAE. It falls under the jurisdiction of the onshore Arabic language courts in Abu Dhabi. Operating within the Civil Law framework, an ADJD Will covers assets across all seven Emirates of the UAE. By registering a Will with ADJD, non-Muslims ensure that their estate will not be subject to the application of Sharia law.

Requirements:

  • Testator must be a non-Muslim.
  • Testator, Executors, and Trustees must be 21 years or older, in accordance with UAE law.
  • Testator must provide a valid UAE Resident Identity Card.
  • Wills not drafted in Arabic must be translated by a sworn translator and registered in Arabic or bilingual format with the ADJD Wills Registry.

POA&More is here to assist in drafting your ADJD, ensuring peace of mind and a secure future for your loved ones.
